The seasonality of Darjeeling tea, described as flushes, bring out different flavor from the tea that is picked from the same plants during different times of the year.
Read MorePremium quality, organically grown Spearmint. Refreshingly minty, naturally sweet, well-rounded flavor with peachy mint aftertaste. The aroma is enchanting. Enjoy this herbal tea infusion hot or iced, at any time of the day. Cooling, refreshing and uplifting, spearmint is one of the most popular of all the mints. It has a cool, refreshing flavour, milder than that of peppermint and pleasantly minty and sweet aroma. *Updated review to my previous review* Just realized I might have been comparing apples to oranges in my previous review (thus the previous review would have been unfair to Shanti Tea)! *further clarification- I am comparing both in the very specific scenario where I infuse Spearmint in regular temperature water for everyday drinking (not in the usual hot water steeping/ brewing method): Upon more research, I discovered that there are more than one Spearmint type/ variety, and: Between the two: - Shanti’s Native Spearmint was more fragrant smelling (when diffused in room temperature water), but milder in taste and menthol sensation. Hope this helps, and just wanted to write this update to provide a fairer review to Shanti Tea! Link: https://realitypathing.com/types-of-spearmint-and-their-unique-uses/ |

I bought the 500g bulk pouch. It was unfortunately not very flavourful (compared to the other Organic 100% spearmint tea brands I tried such as Mighty Tea’s (the Mint Melange), that had a a more pronounced minty/ menthol flavour and diffused better/ quicker). When comparing the two, I noticed Shanti Tea’s dried organic spearmint tea leaves was much much drier (over roasted? not sure if this was the reason for the big difference in the lack of menthol flavour/ intensity between the two Organic spearmints). Or perhaps older/ slower moving stock? (The Spearmint doesn’t seem as popular as the other teas here). As such, I was quite disappointed with the flavour and will not be repurchasing from Shanti Tea. However, credits to their operations team. Service was good- customer service was helpful and the delivery was prompt. |
