Shatavari Root

Shatavari Root (Asparagus Rracemosus) is a member of the asparagus family, and it is commonly referred to as the Indian asparagus. It can be found in the tropical areas of Asia, India, Australia, and Africa. It is a woody plant that usually grows in shady areas and at a low altitude.

This sweet and bitter herb is used in Ayurveda to balance pitta and vata, but can increase kapha due to its heavy nature. Its bitter and sweet taste has a cooling effect on the system, so it is particularly beneficial in cases of excess pitta but it makes a great support for anyone looking for a nourishing, grounding effect.

Shatavari Root it is the most important herb in Ayurvedic medicine for problems connected to women's health and fertility.

In Ayurveda, it is advised to use Shatavari root powder, mixed in a glass of warm milk and taken with honey or sugar. It can also be mixed with ghee.
