Korakundah Black

Smooth, mellow and refined. A high-altitude Nilgiri with honey and floral notes, light body and minimal astringency. A tea that rewards drinking on its own, without milk or sugar.

Korakundah Black

Smooth, mellow, and well refined. This is a tea that asks you to savor it.
Korakundah Black comes from the Korakundah Tea Estate in the Nilgiri mountains of Tamil Nadu at over 8,000 feet, it's the highest commercial tea plantation in the world. At that altitude, the tea grows slowly and you can taste the difference: a well-rounded cup with honey and floral notes, subtle fruity undertones and barely any astringency. It brews into a light amber liquor with a bright, inviting hue.

This is a tea that rewards drinking on its own, without milk or sugar, letting the natural sweetness and delicate complexity speak for themselves. It makes a beautiful afternoon or evening cup when you want something refined rather than robust.

Korakundah Estate is one of India's pioneering organic tea gardens, certified organic since the 1990s and also carrying Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance certifications. The tea is grown without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, in one of the most biodiverse landscapes on earth. For a tea this good to also be this responsibly produced is rare and worth savoring.
