White Monkey

High quality green tea with many silver-colored tips giving intricately sweet and delicate taste.

White Monkey

White monkey tea is a green tea sometimes mistaken for white tea. It is cultivated in the Taimu Mountains of the Northern Fujian province of China. The leaves of the white monkey tea are long with many white-colored tips covered with fine and fuzzy layer of hair.

White monkey tea is typically plucked during early spring season. Only the tip buds and one leaf are plucked. These young leaves of the white monkey tea are then meticulously gathered and manually shaped into an appearance that is bent, stout and brimming with white tips all over.

White monkey tea produces a clear and bright liquor and an intricately sweet and delicate taste. Nicely balanced, it doesn't get bitter. Steep it in low temperature (65 to 75 degrees C).

Directions

White Monkey tea is suitable for cold brewing. When cold brewed, White Monkey tea can produce a smooth and refreshing beverage with subtle floral and fruity notes.
To cold brew White Monkey tea, follow these steps:
1. You'll typically need around 1 to 2 teaspoons of tea leaves per 8 ounces (about 240 milliliters) of water.
2. Place the White Monkey tea leaves in a clean container, such as a glass pitcher or mason jar.
3. Add cold, filtered water to the container, covering the tea leaves completely. Use fresh, clean water for the best flavor.
4. Cover the container with a lid or plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator.
5. Allow the tea to steep in the refrigerator for an extended period, typically 6 to 12 hours or overnight. Cold brewing extracts flavors slowly, resulting in a smooth and mellow brew.
6. Once the steeping time is complete, remove the container from the refrigerator and strain the cold brewed tea to separate the liquid from the tea leaves.
7. Serve the cold brewed White Monkey tea over ice cubes, if desired. You can also garnish it with citrus slices or fresh herbs for added flavor.
Cold brewed White Monkey tea is a refreshing and hydrating beverage that can be enjoyed on its own or with a meal. Experiment with different steeping times and tea-to-water ratios to find your preferred flavor profile.
