Story, Folklore, History...
Japanese Tea:The history of this tea's components dates back over hundreds of centuries. Ginger's current name comes from the Middle English gingivere, but ginger dates back over 3,000 years to the Sanskrit srngaveram meaning “horn root” with reference to its appearance. The word “sencha” literally means “decocted tea” in Japanese, referring to the method that the tea beverage is made from. Unlike matcha, sencha uses the whole dried tea leaves steeped in water. It is the most popular tea in Japan, and represents about 80 percent of the tea produced in Japan.
