Where its Western descendants tend toward boldness and brisk astringency, China Breakfast is something quieter and more considered. Medium-bodied, smooth and low in tannins, it asks nothing more, no milk to soften it, no sugar to balance it. It simply unfolds dark dried fruit, a rounded earthiness, the faintest thread of woodsmoke.

Note: Smooth Chinese black teas create a naturally sweet, refreshing iced tea without the bitterness often found in traditional breakfast blends. Our China Breakfast makes an excellent iced tea because it's less tannic than Assam-heavy breakfast blends, naturally sweet, smooth when chilled and has virtually no bitterness, even when brewed a little stronger. It's delicious in a cold brew - no clouding, no surface film, no staining. Just a clean, golden cup that's as good over ice as it is hot.
