Activated Charcoal Powder - Food Grade
Organic activated charcoal made from coconut shells. It is odorless, tasteless and nontoxic.
Activated charcoal is well established in medical literature as a powerful antidote that adsorbs most organic toxins, chemicals, and poisons before they can harm the body. It has the ability to remove bacteria and harmful substances that may otherwise lead to digestive distress or build-up on the skin. It comes with many uses: as a toxin remedy, in oral care and in beauty care.
Activated charcoal should not be taken within two hours of vitamins or medications because it will hinder their adsorption.
As with any substance, you should always check with your doctor before internal use, especially in an emergency or life-threatening situation.
Activated charcoal is NOT the same thing as the ashes from burning wood or other fires at home!!

Look for split yellow mung beans. This is recommended because it is said to not produce gas, which is important when considering that the point of a kitchari diet is to have a meal that is easy to digest. White basmati rice is used for the same reason. The hull is removed, making it easier on digestion than brown rice.
